Halloween Spotted - Summer of Night by Dan Simmons

 

I've been meaning to read Dan Simmons' Summer of Night for years, ever since I was first tipped off to the book by Trevor Henderson when he listed out a bunch of recommended reads on Twittter.  

His pitch was "I LOVE this book.  Do like IT?  Do you like monsters and fall and kids on an adventure with real stakes?"  My answer was 'yes' to all those things so 7 years after reading his reco, and it sitting on my Wishlist, I finally made this year the summer I read Summer of Night.

Two different Halloween references in the book (full disclosure, I've got about 6 chapters to go, so there may be more...).
