At this point in the Video Advent Calendar home stretch, I was continually working on the grand finale: the Halloween-Day video. So, like yesterday, I had to meet my self-imposed video obligation but deliver something that was a quickie.
Enter: my local Lowe's Home Improvement store.
I had gone into mine the moment they had put their Halloween wares up, and took various footage for fun and posterity.
Well that footage was now saving my butt.
Leaning into the idea that most Halloween fanatics like to visually shop on others' feeds (including myself), I created a "10 Animated Things Being Animated" video. Rather than just stringing the footage together, I tried to give it a Late Night with David Letterman edit-cadence to give it a little humor. This works well for the lamer items featured (like that growling gargoyle... man that thing is so dumb...), but overall it's pretty straightforward.
