Can you see this?

Like I mentioned in my "13 Days to Halloween" Video Advent Calendar post, I don't know why I didn't think to make THIS one the "13 Days 'til..." post/video.  Day 11 but 13 books?  Insanity.

I've seen a number of these types of posts on Instagram and actually found them extremely helpful in finding new Halloween reads.  So I thought I'd give it a try.  I picked 13 Halloween books from my extensive collection, arranged them from biggest to smallest, used my 'I'm-so-glad-I-bought-these' bright autumn leaves and set to it.

The books are (and I should note that I may get a small concession from Amazon should you order through these links):

Trick 'r Treat:  Tales of Mayhem, Mystery, and Michief

Pumpkin Cinema:

Halloween 3:  Where the Hell is Michael Myers?:

A Newbury Halloween:

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown:  The Making of a Television Classic:

Ed Emberley's Halloween Drawing Book:

Ed Emberley's Big Orange Drawing Book:

Halloween [Short Story Collection]:

October Dreams:  A Celebration of Halloween:

A Season with the Witch:

The October Country:

The Night the Scarecrow Walked:

Something Wicked This Way Comes:

Lastly--- the biggest challenge with this video was figuring out how to make the leaves blow away.

The first unused take is laughable.  You should hear me off-camera trying to take a huge breath and blow the leaves away.   Mmmmmnope.  Not these fabric leaves, my friend.  I may have passed out had I tried that a second time.

I didn't have a fan handy, so my solution was finding a big pad of artist's paper (the kind with the heavy cardboard backing and a spiral at the top).  Making a single big wave of that pad, sent the leaves in all directions.  Those that remained I just put the on-screen font strategically around.
