A Halloween poem.
Ten days to Halloween and I'm realizing this video-a-day stunt is an exercise in trying out alllllll the different things I thought 'maybe someday I should try that...'
Like a poem.
At first I looked around for a public domain poem to use, but all that I found were too long, or too flowery, or too er-- 'not right.'
So I took a crack at writing my own.
Based on a photo I took while traveling in Carmel, CA, I wrote a brief poem (just a stanza-and-a-half, maybe?). Then I had to do some crude Photoshopping (or Google Snapseed-ing) to turn the photo into a lights on/lights off version. I then recorded the snap of a light switch sound in my own house and, presto, video done. No music needed. The nighttime cricket sounds came from the Sunset Studios Sound Effects Library.
